I was tasked with designing a series of 10 safety posters for the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Surat, with the goal of increasing safety awareness among the crew. A key challenge was that safety materials on ships often lack Indian-specific imagery and representation, which can hinder quick recognition and association during critical moments. To address this, I focused on incorporating culturally familiar symbols and design elements, ensuring the posters would resonate more effectively with the crew. The illustrations were carefully crafted to convey essential safety protocols in a clear, visually engaging manner—ultimately making safety information more intuitive and memorable for the crew.
