Art of Freedom (AOF) Global Foundation undertook this study to document the lived experiences of Afghan women refugees in Delhi.
Drawing on interviews with 36 women, the research explores everyday realities of housing, safety, documentation, work, education, belonging,
and self-expression. By centering women’s voices, experiences, and aspirations, the report highlights the conditions shaping their lives and identifies opportunities for more responsive policies and support systems. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of displacement beyond statistics, foregrounding resilience while drawing attention to the structural barriers that continue to affect refugee women in India.
